She is also the author of Suitable for Giving: A Collection of Wit with a Side of Wry, a collection of humor essays. Her TV-movie writing credits include Big Spender for Animal Planet, and A Child Too ManyCradle of Conspiracy, and Deceived by Trust for Lifetime. She lives in California, where she rides horses and drinks copious amounts of fine wines, though not at the same time.

He is a professor of Composition, Creative Writing, Journalism, Philosophy and the Humanities at Arapahoe Community College and received his Ph.D from the University of Iowa, where he also trained at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.

Tara Campell is proud to be on the current roster for the Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau, and is a mentor the the 19th season of AWP’s Writer to Writer Mentorship Program. She’s the recipient of the 2016 Larry Neal Writers’ Award in Adult Fiction, the 2016 Mayor’s Arts Award for Outstanding New Artist, and Arts and Humanities Fellowships for 2018 – 2022. She is also a 2017 Kimbilio Fellow and winner of the 2018 Robert Gover Story Prize. Tara earned her MFA from American University in 2019, and is a fiction editor at Barrelhouse
