The International Flash Fiction Association for readers, writers, and researchers of flash fiction is directed by Drs Peter Blair and Ashley Chantler, Department of English, University of Chester, UK. Peter Blair and Ashley Chantler are Senior Lecturers in English at the University of Chester, where they teach on the BA and MA programmes in Creative Writing and English Literature. They are the founders and editors of Flash: The International Short-Short Story Magazine and Flash: The International Short-Short Story Press.

(Inspiration: In Jailbird by Kurt Vonnegut, Kilgore Trout tries to write a short story about meeting his father in heaven, but his father has decided to spend the afterlife as himself at nine-years-old while Trout enters heaven as a forty-four year old man. )
